Maradona


'Life is a Miracle'
The fate of Argentine soccer, or rather, in an incomprehensible failure of his career, there is a mystery, fascination for any film-maker. The question is how to approach this slippery and obviously painful for the hero theme. Kusturica, as he asserts in the film absolutely not going to poke his nose into other people's affairs and to play the role of the paparazzi, but only wanted to draw a portrait of a great man. Director fails to ask provocative questions and does not require a public confession of his hero: the film is built in format relaxed conversation. But again and again Maradona before the camera exposes himself and regrets about the years of life, cast cocaine. Kusturica does not make this topic intriguing film - for this he is too human. Against this background, 'Maradona' Kusturica presents an original method of rehabilitation of the great football. Director does not try to whitewash or justify his hero, he simply considers it separately from the secured him a halo scandalousness. We Kusturica instead of gossip really get a portrait.
